Graphic materials with ownership indications of libraries or similar institutions or of  private collectors are indispensable for provenance research. Today, specimens that changed hands illegally during the Nazi dictatorship or during the post-war period still appear in antiquarian book shops or at auctions. During a provenance research project, some documentation with ownership indications of the present-day SLUB as well as its predecessor institutions - the Saxon State Library Dresden and the Library of the University of Technology - and later of the University of Technology emerged as illustrative material.
